2. John2 Adams After returning to New England from a trip to England in 1651, he built a
house on property that eventually became the location of the town hall and
railroad station at Arlington. The house was owned and occupied by six
generations of Adams until taken down in 1846 to make way for the railroad
station. This house was located on the main highway from Cambridge to Concord (later Massachusetts Ave.) and was riddled with bullets fired by the British troops during their retreat from Concord on the afternoon of Apr. 19, 1775. He was born in 1622 at Kingweston, Somersetshire, England. He was christened on 4 December 1622 at Kingweston, Somersetshire, England. He married Anne (-- unknown --) in 1650 at Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts. He died in 1706 at Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts. He was buried in June 1706 at Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.
